Both happiness and suffering are not permanent in nature. We don't know the meaning of other with out facing the other. But suffering part was exposed fully by all possible means. For example the quote about marriage. " Marriage is a three ring circus. Betrothal ring, wedding ring, and suffering.

Suffering is an inescapable part of life, just as death comes to all but it is life's most effective and profound teacher of development and growth and it furthers our efforts to find meaning in our lives since the true source of happiness lies within oneself
