Designed for seven hundred years, subject to maintenance as per MILITARY / ARMY regulations. U know Howrah bridge is Property of Indian Defence deptt/ Army... , not of Kolkta Corporation or West bengal Govt.

It is a wonderful bridge built on iron girders and being maintained, well painted to withstand against harsh weather conditions and so, it will last for many decades!

If no natural/man made calamity occurs then it may last not less than 1000 years ! since itz a property of national heritage Indian Defence deptt/ Army is taking proper maintainance of this national property
