Recently the undersigned read that even for adults let alone the kids the afternoon nap ( reference drawn to an article about afternoon nap increasing productivity amonst adults) is helpful and keeps the people more productive and increases output.

The child will automatically feel sleepy in the afternoon. till they go to full time school children need at least 13-14hrs of sleep. once they start full time school then it is advisable to put them to bed by 8 or 8.30pm latest. then they will be bright and fresh the next day. even now my daughter who is in the 6th goes to bed by 8.30pm. she has not problem getting up at 6am. so let the child have a good sleep in the afternoon till it joins full day school
