USB pen drive is the best among the removable storage devices for its portable and easy to use features. Flash drives are small but solid devices as they come in highly durable designs nowadays. Their higher capacities when compared with floppy drive, CD or ZIP drives make them ideal for transporting large files. As they use advanced NAND flash technology, they are faster than other storage devices. Since there are no movable parts inside flash drives, they are quite suitable for causal use and less prone to damage or such problems. Whats more, they do not require power and their prices are affordable too.

Pen drive is a storage device. Its a small pen like device which is connected to the USB port of our computer. It can store data like a floppy, again and again but is highly reliable. You can store data again and again. If you are planning to buy one dont think twice. Buy atleast a 1Gb pen drive

Basically a pocket sized external data storage device connected to a PC for data transfer (MP3s, photos, videos etc) via USB.

There are several uses for it...

You can use it as your Car's stereo solution if you got a pen drive along with a portable mp3 player with a cigarette lighter mount.

You can use it as a USB boot device (if your BIOS supports it). If you got a 4 gb HD- you can maybe boot with a lightweight OS like DSL (damn small linux)- which just takes 50mb. You can make this your mobile work-station if you do it this way, then. You can boot of it in any computer that has a USB dock. Makes your work ALOT easier, esp. if you're an e-commerce merchants.

Or if you're a software tester by profession & deal with OS, you can use your external pen drive as a boot device to test how comps boot & run with that OS in different hardware configs...MUCH better than installing manually on each comp.

Or you can use it as a storage device for online photos, documents, videos, etc., et ...more

It is a medium of storage like Floppy, CD etc. Advantage is it is quite small and compact and can be carried from one PC to another. For floppy/CD u need the PCs that have these drives.

For PEn drive all u need is a USB Port.
