The wife of the nation's Law Minister is accused of forging the signatures of a government official of Uttar Pradesh to siphon off money meant for the physically handicapped. Law Minister Salman Khurshid's Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust was granted funds for providing aids to the physically handicapped. But the Trust, whose project director is Louise Khurshid, used forged signatures and seals to submit proofs to the Union Social justice and Empowerment that all things were in order. Many officials who were interviewed, on a hidden camera, admitted so much. One official says the NGO run by the minister's family can't be blacklisted without the approval of Salman Khurshid. This story has hidden camera interviews of other officials too. Siphoning off money meant for the handicapped is the most despicable activity one can imagine! I can never understand what went into the heads of Salman Khursheed and his wife to do such a thing for just 71 lakh rupees!!
Perhaps this 71 Lakhs is just the tip of the iceberg.
Still Salman Khursheed talks of going for the libel. Lets see what comes out of that! Many sting operations have proved to be fabricated, after all.
