Ohm's law states that Current flowing between any two point through any electrical circuit is directly proportional to the Potential Difference between the two points. Thus i is directly proportional to V. Putting a constant of proportionality, R, we get the equation V = IR.

R X I = V where R= Resistance in ohm I = Current in ampere V = Voltage in volts
