If you have included Advertisement Films, it was Farooque Engineer in the Sixties , who started first to appear as a model for Bryllcream, with the caption "Has the success gone to his head". Then the others followed.

Salim Durrani was the first cricketer to make an appearance in films. He was paid Rs 80,000 for a role as a playboy industrialist in BR Isharra's film, Charitra opposite Parveen Babi in 1973. The film bombed and Durrani failed to re-create the magic on the big screen.
