There r 2-3 hadiths tht says tht Aisha(RA) was married at 6-7yrs and consummation of the marriage took place whn she ws 9 yrs of age. but there r numerous irrefutable evidences and arguments tht say tht she was 17-18 yrs of age when they married and consummated the marriage. due to lack of space, i give below only 4 such evidences:
1. Imam Waliuddin Muhammad Abdullah Al-Khateeb, the author of famous work on Hadith, namely Mishkaat was also an acknowledged expert of Asma-ur-Rijal (the unique art of research on people). He registered the following about Hazrat Asma at the end of Mishkaat.
She is Asma, the daughter of Abu Bakr Siddiq...She is the mother of Abdullah Bin Zubair...She was 10 years older than her sister Ayesha...She died at the age of 100 in Makkah in 73AH...(Mishkaat, Asma-ur-Rijal)

Muhammad(saw) was not a pedophile for the following reasons:
(1) Aisha was already a woman by the time she married, which was after she had reached puberty. As the psychologist, Margaret Matlin, affirmed, "For females, a major physical milestone of puberty is menarche, or the beginning of menstruation. However, no specific event separates adolescence from adulthood. We usually associate adulthood with living separately from our parents, holding a job, and having children of our own. However, none of these characteristics is essential for adulthood. (The Psychology of Women, p. 132)
(2) He did not marry Aisha(ra) when she was 6.
(3) Aisha(ra) was reached womenhood and then got married. If Muhammad(saw) was a pedophile, he surely would have had relationships with more young girls.

A man, aged thirty years, shall marry a maiden of twelve who pleases him, or a man of twenty-four a girl of eight years of age; if (the performance of) his duties would otherwise be impeded, he must marry sooner." [Manu IX.94]
"But do you mean to tell me that the man who in the full flush of youthful vigour, a young man of four and twenty (24), married a woman much his senior, and remained faithful to her for six and twenty years (26), at fifty years of age when the passions are dying married for lust and sexual passion? Not thus are men's lives to be judged. And you look at the women whom he married, you will find that by every one of them an alliance was made for his people, or something was gained for his followers, or the woman was in sore need of protection." - - Dr Annie Besant (Dr Annie Besant in 'The Life and Teachings of Mohammad,' Madras, 1932)
