Now the scheme is discontinued. They were bearer bonds with out name and address issued by central Govt for some years back.

It is a kind of investment made through the post office.Originally,the poat office used pay double the amount invested after 5 years.Now the return on inestment has been reduced due to fall in the interest rate.
