Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) by the India Inc recorded a phenomenal increase ----news. Is M & A really proving beneficial for them? Your views?

1.

1)Well, M&A is a long term game plan for the serious players. For the unscrupulous, it is one way of stashing away the money in foreign countries. As I understand, there are no proper control mechanisms as of now.
2)Very little info is available about the impact of Indian M&A on Indian economy in public domain.
3)Some of the latest M&A cases like Bharti Airtels acquisition of Zains Africa assets would take a long time to show any meaningful results. We may have to wait and watch.
4)Tatas acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover seems to be okay since it still has not gone down the drain thanks mainly to the support of the British government. Whereas the same cannot be said about the Corus. Even Mr. Ratan Tata was on record that the cost of the acquisition was a little bit on the higher side which has been made worse by the deteriorating economic scenario of Europe. It would take a long time to make a turnaround.

Its the plan of a professional group or company to park there investment in overseas,some times they may not be as beneficial as planned but process of hopes for earning profit doesnot stopped
