There is a new scandal in the Commonwealth Games, and this time the Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) is implicated. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to register an FIR into an alleged Rs-572 crore contract in the awarding of communications contracts to MTNL.

White elephant gaints like mtnl/bsnl cant be different than any other unenthusiastic/lazy/dull/kaamchre agency.
Manupulation with HCL are reflected in that deal causing many raids yesterdays by CBI in many parts of country.

MTNL is already a lossmaking company and I do not think the news could be correct. In fact MTNL is killed by the government as they are not allowed to develop their vast land resources. Everything will lne day go to Ambanis like IPCL.
