To benefit the community at large, the Foundation, in partnership with the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Government of India, has planned a Red Ribbon Express (RRE) initiative, along the lines of the Mobile AIDS Counselling Service project.


RRE is a nationwide communication campaign to contribute to the national goal of reducing the rate of new HIV infections to zero by 2007, by generating awareness of HIV/AIDS in over 15,000 gram panchayats in the rural interior of the country. Red Ribbon Express is a train with five coaches, containing the following facilities: an auditorium/training centre, a counselling, testing, care and support unit, an exhibition and resource centre and accommodation for the staff and performing artists.


There will be around 60 folk artists on the train. RRE will start its journey from Kanyakumari, will follow the parikama style and after halting at 180 stations, having covered almost all the states of India, it will return to Kanyakuma ...more
