This form is for persons below 60 years of age :
(a) who have income from certain heads such as interest on deposits, NSS withdrawals, taxable dividends, income from Units of mutual funds and interest from 'securities' the aggregate of which does not exceed the naximum amount not subject to tax AND
(b) whose total income from all sources does not exceed the maximum amount not subject to tax.
If both these criteria are satisfied, then the assessee can submit this form to the person paying these 5 types of income and the payer is then not required to deduct tax at source.
