It is an activity in which a large number of people assemble together in a place and perform some kind of activity or you can say a brief action and then quickly disperse. The main aim of this activity is to generate fun and entertain people. Nowadays, it can be organized in many ways like social media, telecommunication and much more. A flash mob (or flashmob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and pointless act for brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment, satire, and artistic expression.Flash mobs are organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails.[
The term, coined in 2003, is generally not applied to events and performances organized for the purposes of politics (such as protests), commercial advertisement, publicity stunts that involve public relation firms, or paid professionals. In these cases of a planned purpose for the social activity in question, the term smart mobs is often applied instead.

Flash mob is the promotional activity for brands or products. It involves a person or a few people coming up with performances like dance, song or any other interesting, entertaining activity at public places like malls, airports, stations etc. and mostly they break out into the performance all of a sudden, attracting a lot of attention. It is done primarily to grab the attention of the large number of people at that venue, which works as good as advertising
