Teacher is someone that teaches you so that you can then do things yourself. Lecturer is like a parent talking to a teenager, it means nothing to the teenager and yet the parent keeps going on and on and on but no one is listening.

Teacher teaches young children at elementary and primary level where teacher has to take personal interest in each student and make them understand. The students are very young and need the personal guidance of teacher. Whereas, Lecturer teaches from junior college onwards and at this level, individual personal attention is not that much required as students are little matured enough to understand the lectures.
