My age was only five, when our parents visted the Javali forest. I am planning now to make a visit soon.
It is one of the rare forts in Maharashtra, as it was built by Shivaji Maharaj itself. Pratapgadh is a strong fort and one of the best in Swaraj. The height of the fort is almost 3500 feet.
The fort is easily seen from Mahabaleshwar and specially from Elphinston Point. A deep forest between Pratapgadh and Mahabaleshwar is known as 'Javali Forest'.
