How does a British person of non indian origin apply for permission to the RBI to buy property in india

well madeline, I suggest you do it the Indian way. get a middle man. talk to your real estate agent.(a fellow based in india, preferably)
if you dont have one,. contact one of them and tactfully show your interest in buying proerty in india.
of course, i'm assuming you have already looked over the RBI website....
last heard there were protests in Goa about some Yanks buying out chunks of india....so its definitely doable!
