Ramayana : The viewership count
Mahabharat : Technically, very well done. camerawork, special effects, background score,. etc etc
Tara : First soap opera
Kyunki... Again, a serial of a different type from all else seen before. I hated this serial, but apparently, a lot of people regularly watched this ,and for that this serial deserves respect.

Groundbreaking means - something totally new, which changed the way people watched the TV. They would be as follows.
1. Doordarshan - Hum Log/ Buinyaad
2. Cable TV - Tara/ Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahoo Thee

The first serial to break foundation of families, the first serial which literally dragged its way until the viewers' almost committed suicide.....!
