There are some scientific reasons that we Indian are shorter than Europeans:
One of them is diet:
Our (Indian) diet that depresses growth. A typical Asian diet contains little calcium, little protein, and accommodates a relatively large amount of soybean products, which contain isoflavones, a type of phytoestrogen that acts like a female hormone. We take in little iron, Vitamin A and Vitamin D, which causes growth retardation.
2nd is genetic:
It is also a fact that variation in height between populations and across time is proportionately largely due to changes in leg length.
From above there are three remedies:
1) Sleep Growth hormone speeds the absorption of the nutrients and amino acids into the cells, and aids growth during deep sleep. Not getting sleep regularly can lower the amount of growth hormone the body produces daily. Excess sleep will also not help secretion. Never eat a large meal within two hours of going to sleep. The body releases greatest amount of growth hormon ...more

A person's height is determined by how our genes interact with the
environment. If you live in a healthy way, you will achieve your
greatest potential height. The most important things you can do are to
get plenty of sleep, exercise regularly, eat a well-balanced diet, and
avoid alcohol and drugs. The diet must be balanced with all food groups (grains, fruits, vegetables, meat/beans). The emphasis should be on Calcium rich foods and foods high in proteins. Take Vitamin D supplement if milk is not fortified. Include a lot of green leafy vegetables containing iron(spinach, fenugreek). Exercise can help increase height specially during puberty. The exercise should involve extending body vertically, examples: swimming, basketball, volleyball.

Dont listen to doctors telling you its in your genes. You need lots of calcium and protein you need to keep fit and exercise a lot. You also need to stand up straight with a good posture because if you walk with your head down or your back slouched it can affect your growth. Your spine is the most important part of your growth. Believe me i know because im a nutritionist and i know about health and foods and what foods affect the body. Hope this helps.

At 21 chances are less to increase height. But still see a doctor.
Height is determined by the complex interactive combination of genetics and environment. Genetic potential plus nutrition minus stressors is a basic formula. Diet (in addition to needed nutrients; such things as junk food and attendant health problems such as obesity), exercise, fitness, pollution exposure, sleep patterns, climate, and even happiness (psychological well-being) are other factors that can affect growth and final height. Humans grow fastest (other than in the womb) as infants and toddlers (birth to roughly age 2) and then during the pubertal growth spurt. There is certain age at which most people usually stop growing i.e. for man 21-23 and for woman 18-20. It occurs shortly after puberty. It is possible to continue growing until 22 for woman and 25 for man. You can do following for increased height.
1) Sleep Growth hormone speeds the absorption of the nutrients and amino acids into the cells, and aid mor ...more

Its not the food that does height. Try tweaking your genes. With genetics going the way they are right now, it won't be long where you can choose "features" for yourself and your children before they are born!!

If you are already 20 years old there is minimal chace of height increase. Height is also determined by genes and natural factors. In addition you could do exercises like pull ups or play basket ball to increase height. But there is no sure-shot formula to increase height. And after an age you cant grow - rather u may get fat or thin only.

Do exercise - stretching. Maintain a good diet which includes all necessary nutrients and take supplements. And stop worrying. After a certain age, it is not easy to grow taller.
