First, to get this out of the way. My personal belief is that most if not all people should be exercising more than they already are regardless of whether or not they have had a heart attack! ',

The proper answer to this question depends on how in depth answer you want. Also, you may want to learn how look up medical literature and begin how to critically appraise medical literature. Most of it may be a little dense, but if you begin now, you may appreciate the difficulties and nuances that go into medical guidelines. I encourage you to google "pubmed" and then type in "exercise after heart attack" and see what turns up.

What you'll find is that there are literally thousands of studies that examine the benefits of exercise after heart attacks. Usually these studies fall under the heading of "cardiac rehabilitation", which essentially is a structured exercise program.
