Kasab is a precious catch .Pakistan first refused to accept him as their citizen. With mounting global pressure finally accepted him as their citizen but refused to accept the invovement of ISI in 26/11 turmoil.India is a democratic country with its own global reputation for justice to all.If we hang Kasab without trial ,it will certainly hamper our global standing. So,he needs a fair trial, which is time consuming. He has been targeted by ISI n any leniency on our part may cause his assasination by ISI.So,we r spending money to give justice to him n not allow pakistan to destroy the proof. It is not a wastful expenditure.

Why we had to spend this kind of a money, I had explained in detail in one of my answers to Sumitha's Qn. on the subject, I think about a month back. It is the price we have to pay to keep him alive, protected and go through the legal procedure. Why should we now be upset about it? Our laws have been made by our representatives and if there are loose ends to the law that any one can take advantage of, it is ours and our Govt's fault that we have not made more stringent laws to deal with these kind of crimes. So, as per existing law, he too will have access to appeal right upto the Supreme Court level and then have the previlege of putting in a plea in case death sentence is awarded to commute it to life. And like all the tricky cases infront of the Govt, they will sit over it for years, passing it from one Govt to another as they come to power and Kasab will still be languishing in our jails as an old man, having by then the Govt having incurred may be even 200 crores.

Its gandhigiri- kisi ne ek gal par thappad mara to dusra aage karne ka.
We are spreading the message that terrorists are getting 5 star treatment in India.
