I think U have never seen any crocodile in pure open environment.....
A basking crocodile usually tans in open sun and shed tears which are usually the extra water that goes into its body while hunting tearing, & mutilating the prey in the open water.....itz a natural process to maintain the aquatic balance in its body......itz the biological phenomenon with a crocodile.....
but the ordinary man thinks that the crocodile cries out of sorrow for killing other animal & eat....which is misguiding.....and hypocritical....
and when any human does such hypocritical act itz said that he is sheding crocodile tears....

Crocodile tears are a false or insincere display of emotion such as a hypocrite crying fake tears of grief. The phrase gives its name to Bogorad's syndrome, colloquially "crocodile tears syndrome", an uncommon consequence of recovery from Bell's palsy where faulty regeneration of the facial nerve causes sufferers to shed tears while eating.
