The expansion for HRD is Human Resources Development(HRD). The department managing the functions is called Human Resources Department. In the Organisation the staff call it HRD Dept. The size of the Dept department depends on the size of the Organisation/Company.

The functions of the Dept are : recruitment, training-- induction as well as on going training programmes for skill development including managerial skills-- assessment of self appraisals, discussions with the concerned personnel on the assessment & rating, compensation at the initial stage and on completion of appraisal work, promotions linked to performance, motivational aspects and so on. A new concept that has been introduced around middle of last year in India is ONBOARDING which takes care of smooth settling down of the new recruit in the work situation with in a short period .There will be a mentor and buddy to take care of his needs. Human resource development. every organizatio hv this kind of department to maintain good relation among employer and employ. it also take care of employees rights and provide various kinds of training session to develop their employee this leads to growth and expansion of organizatio as well as employes
