Yavatmal, formerly Yeotmal, town (1991 pop. 121,816), Maharashtra state, central India. Yavatmal, located c.1,500 ft (460 m) above sea level, is a district administrative center, a cattle-breeding town, and a market for peanuts, cotton, and timber.
Yavatmal is a city and a municipal council in Yavatmal district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The name derives from Yavat, meaning mountain and mal, meaning row.
Geography

Yavatmal is located at . It has an average elevation of 445 metres (1459 feet).

Yavatmal District is subdivided into 16 talukas including Pusad, Wani and Digras.

History
Yavatmal is a beautiful quiet town situation in south-east Maharastra. The first thing to notice about the town is its greenary and welcoming people. Because of its location and weather it was considered hill station at the time of britishers.
One can observe the presence of smaller british architectures in the old town.!!
