I look at this in a bit different way. Values are peripherals. Even a dacoit has its value system that they will not touch / harm , ladies and children. We must develop our principles to create our values. Its not only the interest but it needs a passion through our goals, attitude and being truthful to ourselves . Seven pillars to this journey are
1 Passion 2.Belief
3. Strategy 4. Clarity of Values 5. Energy.
6. Bonding Power 7. Mastery of Communication -
All great people are valued in the above dimensions only . Although my strong desire is there to create my own values but its a long way.

And if your beliefs are different from what everyone else believes, you're basically saying, "I'm right, and everyone else is wrong." That's a very unpleasant position to be in. It's at once exhilarating and at the same time an invitation to be attacked.)))

Yes . Values n beliefs r the base on which our concepts , attitudes n opinions r rooted . Beliefs are assumptions we make abt the life and values go in our life as important stimulus . Values r important coz our social interactions n behaviour r based on values only . With so much at stake they do become the guiding principle in our life .

By examining your personal values and using them to create some guiding principles for your life, you will avoid the self-sabotaging patterns that undermine your ability to succeed. Your beliefs can be your greatest assets, or worst liabilities. They dictate your level of self-esteem and your quality of life. Aligning your beliefs with your true self will change your life...!

Yes thats why we wear some masks and face the life.
For example Beleif in God, many are very proudly informing others that they are going to temples.Like advertising themselves.
