Q.

What difference does it make to us whether it is Romney or Obama? Are they going to protest India's interests? Why Indian media are screaming in high pitch since dawn today?

Our media seems too poor indeed. Even if it does not attract the people of India, they go on telecasting it. Might be, some of them are willing to get some "Scholarship" (!!!!!!!) from USA !! It seems that they are most interested to telecast about the USA than that of India !! Blue Jackals indeed. I can't forget the Nuclear Deal and do not find any difference between either of the two. Still our Media........... !!!??? Thanks.

It is a sad and pathetic comment on our media. The saying 'begane shaadi mein abdullah deewana' holds absolutely true in this case. Like you, I was also wondering why they are making such a hue and cry about the U.S elections, the live updates, the wires going crazy and those useless experts giving off their lopsided views. They are doing this when they completely ignore most of what is happening nationally. The standard of news reporting has become so substandard. After the headlines are given, they are back to the panelists and they don't even bother to do a survey whether the audience is interested in these lopsided discussions or more aptly the shouting around or pulling the other down.

It really makes no difference who becomes the President. It hasn't made a difference from the time, Truman was elected way back and then the succession of Presidents to date. They pay lip service and then they go back to what protecting their own national and international interests. Till date, n ...more

Visual Media work for TRP rating. TRP rating depends on keeping its viewer's attention focused on the channel. To achieve this media especially the visual media has to keep on churning out hyped up news report which are visually of good quality with high sound bytes to ensure the screams and shouts in the hyped up program makes it difficult for viewers to concentrate on something else. Americans are good at publicity. Time to time they provide free entertainment (normally they charge directly or indirectly for everything, nothing is given free by US Govt) to world by doling out telecast rights free of cost of their national events like Presidential Election. This is part of image building exercise of US government. Like our voters lap up the freebies doled out to them by our political parties during our local elections, our media (which often talks against freebies given to Aam Jantha) laps up these news story which US doles out to them free of cost during their presidential electio ...more
