Incredible Creature, people before 1947 considered Bose and his followers in the same league as people consider the Naxalites today. When the British were colonizing us, the common Indian educated joined parties such as JUSTICE PARTY of India which called for REFORM of colonial rule and not independence. Bapu's moment itself gained momentum only after people knew that the damage caused to England in world war 2 would make them unable to govern England leave alone India.

My grandshire too joined the Bose legion. But then before 1947, people were like "Oh what an inconsiderate rebel, look at how much he endangered his family by aligning with terrorists" and after 1947 everyone was lining up to kiss his a**.

If u want to consider how we look at Bose REALLY, here are some facts:

India elected the COLONIAL ARMY to defend us and INA soldiers were BANNED from joining the Army of independent India! So troops that were defending the Union Jack of the UK were given priviliged posts as ...more

Mahatma is in a different league from that of Mr. Bose and Bhagat singh. Although it was beyond doubt that Netaji hated communists and joined hands openly with Fascists and became an active fascist, Indians including indian communist harp on him in order to get votes. Only men of armed forces know that he was not a soldier and he was more interested in the trappings of a soldier than the soldiery.
