The reward to the majority of humans who exercise faith is everlasting life in youthful perfect health in an earth being governed by God's kingdom under peaceful paradise conditions. The entire theme of the Bible is how humans can get reconciled to God and how God will destroy evil forever. He started humans on a perfect peaceful earth, gave them exactly what we all still desire, paradise, its what people work for and pay for when they take vacations to places such as the beach the mountains, we all long for that, and that IS the promise. God never lied to humans, he told Adam and Eve if they ate the fruit and disobeyed, they would die. They did die, they brought aging and death into the human experience and started a six thousand year longand counting experiment in humans having self rule, but the facts of thousands of years of human history have only proved the real need even more so, for God to step in and fix all the problems that humans have created for themselves.
