People of different languages, cultures, customs and races came to Punjab. These immigrants influenced Punjabi culture. People are robust and the over scenario of religion is that of Maanav dharm as proponded by the Sikh Gurus. In Punjab no community can be left untouched by the Sikh Gurus and their teachings.
Punjabi Culture and tradition is one of the oldest and richest cultures in world history, dating from ancient times to the modern era.
People here are fond of music / dance/ and they love to the hilt. Bhangra is one of the many Punjabi musical art forms that is very popular in the West and is increasingly becoming a favourite. Punjabi Poetry is renowned for its extremely deep meaning, beautiful, exciting and hopeful use of words.
Great lovers in history were from Punjab like Heer Ranjha, Sohni Mahival, Sassi Punnu, Sahiba Mirza etc were people of Punjab. Volumes can be written on this subject. I suggest Net should be searched for it.

Punjabi culture is affluent due to the intermingling of external invasions, making it the richest and divergent one incorporating the cultural practices of its settlers. It is the site of Indus valley Civilization, highly acclaimed for its ethnic tradition. Traces of Mesopotamia, Greece, Egypt is also been found. No one stands in comparison so far as the sophistication and exuberance is concerned. The eloquence of Punjabi dancers and musicians remain invincible. Bhangra is a performing dance and music that gave Punjabis worldly-wise fame. Mughlai `khana` has become staples for even the non- Punjabis. The Dogra-Pahari style of wrapping turbans beautifies the stout and steadiness of Punjabis, pinpointing their excellent martial techniques that they have imbibed. The mosques, temples, `Gurdwaras`, not largely bare religious flamboyancy of Punjabi; they are examples of marvelous architectural wonders.
