" Waiting for the mahatma" By R.K. Narayan. The novel is so simple and at the same time very moving. No doubt it is rated along with "the guide " and "the malgudi days" as the best of R.K.Narayan

There are many. but i like R.K.Narayan's :- Guide and Malgudi days. both of them are great and Anilta Desai's Clear light of the day. one of the touching novels writen by Anita Desai, the last but not the least Rabindranath Tagore's Short stories. In short stories i enjoyed his novel " The Lost child " and the Kabuliwallah " the most.
