From my childhood I have been a sports fan. At that time there was no TV so my mother used to take my brother and me to the local stadium to watch soccer and cricket matches. And seeing my parents hooked to the transistor listening to live running commentaries of cricket matches, we got addicted too. When TV came this addiction continued and I even used to wake up at 3 in the morning to watch live telecast of cricket matches in New Zealand . Or stay awake throughout the night to watch live telecast of soccer matches. I also remember watching live telecast of lawn tennis matches at the four Grand Slams, the Olympic games, and to a lesser extent other sports like hockey, badminton, basketball. etc. This addiction is still there but I have reduced staying up late as lack of proper sleep may affect my health now.
As for cultural programmes I do enjoy watching the Filmfare Awards ceremony, the Grammy and Oscar awards ceremonies, the Grand finales of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa but I rarely watch ghaza ...more

Ms. Muktha, I feel at recent times, our SO CALLED CULTURAL PROGRAMS are flooded by songs, dances ....reality shows, Drama...etc......most of them are showing POOR CULTURAL VALUE.....
It is better, we should turn into some programs which are meant to encourage our ethical value system rather than ekta kapoor like soap operas.......or having serial about fuzzy things of human life...
