When you no longer have acute pain, you may be ready for gentle strengthening exercises for your stomach, back, and legs, and perhaps for some stretching exercises. Exercise may not only help decrease low back pain, but it may also help you recover faster, prevent reinjury to your back, and reduce the risk of disability from back pain.
Exercises to reduce low back pain are not complicated and can be done at home without any special equipment.
It's important that you don't let fear of pain keep you from trying gentle activity. You should try to be active soon after noticing pain, and gradually increase your activity level. Too little activity can lead to loss of flexibility, strength, and endurance, and then to more pain.

I guess you should consult an Yoga instructor, he will check your situation and give you the perfect exercise. I believe that taking certain supplements will help reduce pain in the backbone. Check out this natural supplement known as OsteoPro, it is specially designed for bone related problems. If you are referring backache, ideal exercise would be - there is specific exercise I am going to tell you but before that please take care that you should not be doing only one specific exercise because you have backache. Please have regular exercise to cover your all body parts. If you can't do it hard way, at least do it for sometime like half an hour every day. The one meant for backache is, lie down on the floor face/stomach touching the floor back up, move each leg up and down slowly. Initially, do it 15 or 20 times. Gradually increase this number to 100 within a period of 3 months. Continue doing it even after your back ache is gone. The one you are having now will sure to go within a maximum period of 8 to 9 months. Since this remedial process is very slow, by the time your ache is gone, you will not know the pain is gone because of your doing exercise.

I have found dandaasan helpful when I have lower back pain. Once you gain the prowess you can do it free standing too. However it is useful in lower back pains and discomfort (Not shooting pains), if what you say is accurate and you indeed have a Backbone pain, like a shooting pain (I don't even know how can one feel pain on bone), I would recommend consulting a doctor. it could be something as simple as muscle spasm or grave enough to need immediate attention.
