The advertisement is such that it erose curisity and for this a caty slogan is must, hence ad slogan is very essential and crucial for success of an ad. Like " If have a Rediff, you will be ready."

Very very important.The slogan is the soul of the advertisement.Take for example the slogan of "the complete man" with regard to Raymond Suiting.No amount of product information however factual and enlightening it may be can make a product catchy without the slogan.

A good slogan is the 'heart' of the advertisement.
Previously manufacturers used to invite the public by way of contests to suggest a slogan / caption for their products and we could see a range of eye catching slogans. The two slogan contests I can never forget are -1) for a detergent named DIP; The first prize winner was a lady with her slogan " I DIP my clothers and DROWN my cares.
2) for Hindustan Lever's Pears Talcum Powder. They wanted a three word slogan with the letters PTP/ ; the first prize went to Pleasing The Particular.

We identify products/brand with the slogan... slogans also make ads easier to remember and hence the product which might prove useful while shopping.
