Yes, market experts say though the market is in a downtrend for now, one can pick up good stocks for the medium and long term. Preferably, invest in largecaps, as whenever the market starts moving up, this space will bounceback first. Also, most of them are available at attractive prices now. But most experts are also saying that the worst is not over yet and there may be more downside left. So invest in a staggered way; small amounts at every fall. Invest in stocks belonging to different sectors like steel, capital goods, power equipment, banks, IT, etc, and a small amount in defensive plays like healthcare and FMCG. But have a medium to long term perspective.
