Q.

Shivaji Statue can wait....... Shivaji Maharaj was a great maratha leader. Scores of important places like airports, rail terminals, musuems and other monuments have been named after him. His statues have been erected at prominent places in Mumbai. The state is now reeling under a severe drought. The immediate task for the state is to bring succour to the poor farmers. In the absence of gud schools, education for poor children is at an abysmally low level. What is the need for a statue at an initial projected cost of Rs. 350 crores??

India should be doing everything on a BIG scale, seeing its size! But its the priority that's important! May political parties have their priorities cut out, perhaps keeping elections in mind. At present there more important things to do than a statue costing Rs.350 croes and which is bound to run overbudget in due course of time.

It is a competition between Government of Marathi Manoos and Government of North Indian Bhias. Marathi Manoos had already lost to North Indian Bhaiyas when it comes to driving Taxis, Selling Vada Pav, Bhel Puri, Pav bhajji, Pan, biddi etc.on the streets of Mumbai. Now they do not want to lag behind in this new game of erecting statues. North Indian Bhenji has already taken a big lead in erecting statues all over Lacknow. Now it is the turn of Maharashtra to show UP that they can erect statues bigger and better than what the 'North Indians' can do.
