Living in an apartment is a convenient choice for people who cannot afford monthly home loan payments.Although renting usually does not charge much than buying up front, the owner will never get back all his/her money which is given to the landlord.Investing in a home will give good returns to the owner.A person owning a home will be independent to make any alterations to his/her home.
Small homes are much easier to afford than a penthouse apartment....

I was hoping that you could put together a collection of perspectives from your readers on their experiences with the benefits to living in an apartment or other high density housing (especially from those with children). Moving into a city and likely high-density housing (apartment) may be in our future. Having only lived in small towns and never an apartment, I have no idea what the advantages are. In true "cup half full" fashion, I was hoping to hear what apartment dwellers with children do to make it work for them.

I can list out both advantages and disadvantages
ADVANTAGES:
.you get to have a place to live in
. rent is cheap or the price of the flat is cheap
. it can be quite quiet and you can feel safe as you got kind neighbours to help you if you need any help....Advantages are that it's a bit more secure and doesn't take long to clean, and there's no garden.
smaller than a house = smaller bills!
easier to clean
halls and communal areas cleaned for us
Not much chance of burglary on higher floors :-)
Warmer due to insulation of other flats around :-) ...more
