Shri K. Karunakaran was the oldest senior politician in India. He was very efficient ruler when he was CM. In addition to an active great politician he was a religious pious man... an ardent Bhakta Guruvayoorappan. He used to visit and spent at Guruvayoor temple in his every birthday.
He was known as a King-maker too. He influenced the Congress Executive Committee and his mastermind worked for selecting P.V. Narasimha Rao and Rajiv Gandhi for the Prime Minister's candidacy.
