The staement coined at a time when Europe was reeling under oppression....but America had been liberated ... therefore it was relevant in terms of the time referred to....but things now had been changed ....oppression, injustice, hatred, all these sentiments had been redefined and renamed .... as patriotism by some groups, some terrorist outfits who claim their violent move as a war against the governance of their nation....which is lawful in their view....which they name it as HOLY WAR ......
