Indians have an obsession to religiously carry out teachings imparted to us by our various foreign colonizers, and "divide & conquer" seems to be our favourate subject. But on a larger picture, in international relations, India can alway shy out of international affairs by bringing up Pak 24*7 and Pak can do the same by bringing up India 24*7. So, whenever our allies need our help in international relations, we give our customary "Oh we'd love to but we're too busy w/ those evil Pakis" excuse and the Pakitanis do the same w/ India. Pak did this too, but India used Pakistan excuse to bail itself out of several situations, like facing NATO to bail out Gemal Abdul Nasser (our chief ally) for one. Do not blame politicians alone it is a falacy that people want peace with each other. Due to constant indoctarisation a large section of pakistani population ernestly belive India is an Evil Hindu nation , They give donations to organizations such as LeT and Hizbul Mujahidine to wage jihad against India. Seeing paki support for terrorism and hostality a large section of population in India also wants an all out war to settle the matters. Basically the differences were deep seated and fanned by Islamists and there seems to be no cure untill Pakistan educates itself to level of western europe and also India advances economically to Per capta income and economy riveling 1st world so that making peace with India is an attrective proposation for pakis
