Chandra Gupt of the Gupta Dynasty.
And Sher Sha Suri ... who intriduced the revenue collection which the British continued and is being continued even today. It was Sher Shah Suri who gave the Name 'Rupee' which is not only used in India but Rupee is also the name of currency of Sri Lanka, Mauritius, the Maldives, the Seychelles, Pakistan as well as Indonesia are known as Rupee. Sher Shah Suri buuilt the Grand Trunk Road from Kolkata to Peshawar via Delhi and Amritsar. He introduced the first postal system with Sarais and relay of horsemen running between on sarai to the next and handing over / taking over the Dak. Sher Shah Suri, the Afghan adventurer who went on to defeat Humayun and captured the throne of Delhi . contained law and order situation which was at its worst in those days.
All this he did in a span of just FIVE YEARS before he died of an accident.
