He was more of an aristocrat who believed in luxury for himself in the royal way which was quite evident through his dressing & mannerisms. He had a relation with Lady Mountbatten which went beyond all limits of aristocracy!!

Moulana Abul Kalam Azad's book "India wins freedom" has vividly discussed some dark side of Pundit Nehru for which Court ordered to ban those obnoxious 80 pages...but no one can shut his eye to that fact depicted by Moulana Azad....
