Q.
In spite of the team retaining the #1 and #2 positions in test and ODI cricket fighting against a strong team like South Africa, the Indian team and its captain are being severely criticised by the net public as can be seen from the majority of comments in the discussion forums. Is this a positive natural attitude that can be attributed to a nation claiming to be an emerging super power? (Even Sachin is getting more brickbats than bouquets after hitting that 200* from the net public.)

Personally, I never cared about these stats or ranking bullsh1t. Just ask yourselves - Is India REALLY strong to maintain or deserve this # 1 spot? Are they really as good as Windies of earlier era of the recent Australia or even SA for that matter? - For me the answer is a resounding no. Okay, now that somehow we are #1 let us see how long we remain there. It is the maintaining the top position that matters. Also, it is only when the opposition feels the feeling we used to get when facing Australia that we can be considered numero uno! We just over hype everything and this whole #1 is the latest.
As an aside, Sachin's double is such a momentous achievement that I was laughing hysterically for a few minutes. *bows to him*

Players are more professionals now and they dont get too emotional about what is said on net by the public. Team India and Dhoni are doing well in cricket and there is nothing to worry. India doent become superpower overnight it has miles to go and unless there is improvement in infrastructure India cant be a super power.....It will sure happen in this decade if govt takes the right steps.
