In Goa, for Shirgao zatra of devi also, those who walk over fire, also observe such fast.

Its not termed fast on sex...
the actual term is abstinence...
and most in North India...
take leave of abstinence during Nav Ratri...
its always better to be pure of mind ...soul and body..
before communing with our maker...God !
