When we see a thriller, hero is many times seen skipping a bullet fired by the villain.. Is it possible to skip a bullet like this ? In how many films you have enjoyed the foolishness of the director ?

Director is not at all foolish.
He is bullish, eying at monetary success.
A hero is not a hero if he can't defy a couple of dozens of bullets from all directions. As long as audience like it Directors fraternity is bound to offer this religiously.

Yes, Sachin tendulakr or Sourav Ganguly or Virendra Sewag are glancing / driving such bullets over the boundary as a matter of regularity. Their every innings are such real life films.
