I highly doubt it because Indian people ever since British colonization times have started getting used living as second class citizens. When people as a whole are themselves willing to get exploited, no matter how many tragedies like RUchika happen, bureaucratic violations of power will continue to be reality.

In India, when u see cops doing blatant constitutional violations in a public place even, people just sort of accept it as reality and "move on" and that attitude makes authorities even more prone to abusing their power. Most states in India have some sort of a curfew deadline in place at night. Say when a tea stall remains open past that hour, the police just many many times ends up pouring the poor stall owner's entire stock on the ground to enforce the curfew and the public has really come to accept this as "the norm" .....even if as per our constitution cops only have right to close down the shop to enforce curfew and has no right to destroy its inventory, which is a cri ...more
