Yes. infact aankh mein dhool jhoka unhoney. it was not a people friendly budget and had the shades of chidambaram ghost presenting it. the minister said that passenger fairs have been left untouched , but hidden charges added.
some days back all passenger fares went up and a second increase could not be possible as public will show anger. so they have increased reservation charges , clerical charges , tatkal charges ,super fast train supplementary , cancellation charges.
picture this : an ordinary second class ticket fare is same , but reservation charge went up rs.10/- and every ticket is now expensive. if the train happens to be a superfast train like brindavan express , runs between chennai and bangalore , we must shell out additional twenty five. so far a distance of three hundred and sixty kilometers , the charge has gone up by thirty five rupees.
the super fast trains are but a farce. for example : an ordinary train takes six hours to reach bangalore with about twelve stops. ...more
