Govt rejects forest clearance to Vedanta bauxite mining project. Violation of a series of laws by it in active collusion with state government officials. is cited the reason for this-----news. Your views?

1.
1)I expect the GOI to take legal action (both civil and criminal) on both Vedanta and corrupt State government officials if it really means business to send a strong signal that laws of the land cannot be taken for granted especially to make quick bucks.
2)It would also set a precedent for all corporate in India that business is a serious issue and ethical aspect shall also be the guiding factor in doing business without which it would amount to loot.
3)The country has already been at the receiving end of so many violent protests by the people driven to the margin due to the audacious exploitation of the natural resources of the country. The public feels that the powerful business lobby loots the nation at the expense of the common man who has been driven out of his native place to enable the mining etc. The latest example is the agitation and violent action by the Maoists whose grouse cannot be ignored altogether since there is some truth in it.
