Tsunam is trigared when a shllow earthquake of more than 8 intensity on richter scale having uppward thrust occurs at see lifting water upwards and causes flooding.

Tsunami is result of an earthquake in sea. So naturally the water flows up and results in flood in nearby areas. That's connection.
