Beautiful simile and most appropriately compared !! A glass once broken can ever be brought to its original shape , however sophisticated method may one try to rejoin the splinters.. certain blemish will always be there making it susceptible to further breakage. So is a thread , once torn leaves a knot even if it is joined again . Similar is the case with TRUST ....once broken can never be regained . Even if the relation is patched up somehow, there will always be an apprehension and doubt about the genuineness of the trust on the part of person betrayed. He can never pin the former faith and hope in the person who broke his trust. It will be a faith blended with fear and doubt....

Yes I believe.. whatever we do, and apply anything.. once broken trust, and once broken glass, both do not take the original shape or beauty

Those, who compare these two are ignoring the material fact that a broken mirror is a matter of moment. But breaking trust is a sustained systematic matter (conscious and unconscious) Trough proper repentance, or sincere honest approach for a longer time may rebuild the trust . It is unwise to compare an inanimate object to the relation of two humans. One should also introspect whether the apparent breakage pf trust was actually misunderstanding or not.
