The temple of Lord Shiva known as "Thirupampuram Shiva Temple- a Rahu parihara sthalam is located near Kumbakonam around 7/9 km radius. Kindly guide.

By Bus
From kumbakonam take Karikal Bus Which leaves every 20min from kumbakonam bus station.Get down at karkathi bus stop which is exactly 26km from Kumbakonam.Thirupampuram village where Temple is located is 3km away from Karkathi main road.Can only reach Temple through Auto or by walk.
Charge for auto is 60rs and it is the fixed rate.There is no bus service to Thirupampuram from Karkathi.Can share auto with some other temple goers if lucky.

Take a Bus or Train to mayiladuthurai.From Mayiladuthurai take Thiruvarur bus from new bus stand.Get down at Kollimangudi which is 15km from Mayiladuthurai.From Kollimangudi take kumbakonam bus
and get down at Karkathi which is 7km away from Kollimangudi.
People coming by car from Chennai can reach Mayiladuthurai through Cuddalore,Chidambaram,Sirkazhi.From Mayiladuthurai take Thiruvarur road and turn right at Kollimangudi to Kumbalonam road.Travelling 7km on Kumbakonam road take left at Karkathi and reach Thirupampuram temple ...more

There are many temples in South India where you can perform Parihara Poojas to Rahu - Thirunageswaram, Nagarkoil, Kukke Subramanya, Srikalahasti and all temples of Lord Murugan (Subramanya is the parihara deity for all Rahu doshas). You can offer poojas at this temples through websites like parihara.com. See:

Thirupampuram is located 7 km west of Peralam. Tiruppaampuram is considered to be the 59th in the series of Tevara Stalams in the Chola kingdom located south of the river Kaveri.
The king of serpents Nagarajan, Karkotakan, Bhrama and Agasthyar are said to have worshipped Shiva here. The name Paampuram comes from the association with Nagarajan. Shiva here is also referred to as Seshapureeswarar, Sarpeswarar. Goddess of this temple is also known as Pramarambikai.
Legend: Aadisesha the mount of Vishnu worshipped Shiva here on the night of Shivaratri and that he commenced his worshipped at Kudandai Keezhkottam, and then proceeded through Tirunageswaram, Tiruppaampuram and Nagur. This event is celebrated on Mahasivaratri nights.
Offering worship at Kudandai Keezhkottam which is known as Nageswarar temple, Kumbakonam in the morning, at Tirunageswaram at noon and at Tiruppampuram in the evening on a given day is considered to be of special significance.

You can take a train from Chennai to Kumbakonam and stay there. From Kumbakonam you may visit the above temple, as well as quite a lot of other places, including the parihara sthlam of all Navagrahams
